The event was brief, lasting less than an hour, and was attended by teachers and pupils of the school. The founder took the opportunity to introduce the foundation to the school and to explain the inspiration behind the humanitarian actions of the foundation.
Event Re-Cap
In the founder’s words, he explained that the Jovilius Foundation was established to give back to society and is named after his son, primarily to support widows and the needy. He believed that celebrating in this way would ensure that the next generation has access to basic necessities of life, especially education, which is crucial for shaping young minds and creating future leaders. He highlighted the importance of technology, stating that it is here to stay and donated computers to the school to mark his son’s birthday and to support the cause of education.
The founder, who is a single father, has struggled since childhood and has had to play the role of both parents to his children, Mercy and Jovilius. He was motivated by his struggles to make this donation, which he believes will have a contemporary and impactful effect on the society. At the end of the event, the founder pledged to place two orphans who recently lost their father on scholarship. The head teacher gave a vote of thanks and thanked the founder, his family, and members of the foundation for their initiative and wished them farewell.
